What this means:
Your camera is connected to your device, but the TestReach app doesn’t have permission to access it. This is usually due to privacy settings on your operating system, or security software blocking access.
Common Problems and How to Fix Them
Problem: The camera is blocked in your system privacy settings
What’s going on: Most operating systems require you to give apps permission to use your camera — and TestReach might be blocked.
What to try (Windows):
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera
- Make sure Camera access is turned On
- Ensure “Let apps access your camera” is also On
- Look for TestReach in the list and make sure it’s enabled
- Restart your computer after making changes
What to try (Mac):
- Go to System Settings (or Preferences) > Privacy & Security
- Scroll to and click Camera
- Unlock the settings using the padlock icon (bottom left)
- Ensure TestReach is ticked
- Close and reopen the TestReach app to apply the changes
Problem: Antivirus or firewall software is blocking camera access
What’s going on: Some antivirus programs have camera privacy settings that override your system settings.
What to try:
- Open your antivirus software and check for a webcam protection or privacy guard section
- Temporarily disable these features or whitelist TestReach
- Restart the TestReach app and try again
Problem: You're on a managed device with admin restrictions
What’s going on: Company or school laptops often restrict camera access unless it's allowed by the IT team.
What to try:
- Contact your IT department and ask them to enable camera access for TestReach
